Mikumi National Park – The Hidden Gem of South Tanzania

Nestled between the Ulunguru Mountains and the Lumngo ranges, Mikumi National Park is Tanzania’s fourth – largest park and one of the country’s most accessible wildlife destinations. Just few hours’ drive from Dar es Salaam, this beautiful park offers an unforgettable safari experience filled with breathtaking scenery and abundant wildlife. 

Often called the “Little Serengeti”, Mikumi’s wide – open Mkatafloodplain attractions large herds of elephant, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, and impalas, all roaming freely across the golden grasslands. Predators such as lions, leopard, and spotted hyenas are seen resting or hunting nearby, while the hippo pools offer a close view of hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitat.
